Confined Space Entry

The most in-depth course in the catalogue, working a hazardous confined space entry the way it actually goes — permit, atmospheric testing, ventilation, isolation, and attendant communication — across 29 interactions and 7 competencies.

Comprehensive confined space entry training aligned with Manitoba WSH Regulation MR 217/2006 Part 15 (Confined Spaces), the WSH Act (C.C.S.M. c. W210) duty layer, and CSA Z1006-16 (Management of Work in Confined Spaces). This is a four-tier program — Awareness (anyone working near confined spaces), Entrant (workers who enter), Attendant (the person who monitors from outside), and Entry Supervisor (the person who authorizes entry).

Equip workers and supervisors to identify confined spaces, recognize and control atmospheric and physical hazards, interpret atmospheric test results, execute the entry permit procedure for their role, and respond to an emergency without becoming a second…

Certificate and renewal

Passing the final test issues a QR-verified certificate, valid for one year. Orientra program standard: review this training at least annually, and whenever the equipment, the space, or the procedure changes.

This certificate records completion of knowledge training in confined space entry under MR 217/2006 Part 15. It does not authorize the holder to enter a confined space or to act as entrant, attendant or entry supervisor on any particular space. Before entry, the employer must confirm the worker is competent under its confined space program — including the practical evaluation for the role, renewed per that program and commonly annual — on the atmospheric monitor, isolation and ventilation methods and rescue arrangements actually in use on that space, and the entry permit for the job always governs.
