A defensive-driving course that works real road scenarios — following distance, winter conditions, intersections, and hazard anticipation — across 11 interactions, so safe driving becomes rehearsed decisions rather than slogans. It's built for the Manitoba roads your drivers actually face.
Driving for work is a work activity — and a collision at road speed can kill. This course treats the vehicle as a workplace and equips every worker who drives for the job to do it safely. It covers why fleet safety matters and the shared duties of the employer (safe, maintained vehicles, training, and journey management) and the driver (driving safely, inspecting the vehicle, being licensed and fit to drive); the fundamentals of defensive driving (anticipate hazards, keep space with at least a three-second following gap, scan and check blind spots, share the road with pedestrians, cyclists, and large vehicles, and set speed to the conditions rather than just the posted limit); three things…
Equip every worker who drives for work to inspect their vehicle, drive defensively, avoid the big risks (distraction, impairment, fatigue), wear a seatbelt, and handle Manitoba conditions — so that preventable work-driving collisions do not happen.
Employees who drive company vehicles or their own for work — fleet, service, sales, and delivery drivers on Manitoba roads.
Passing the final test issues a QR-verified certificate, valid for one year. Review training at least annually, before winter, and whenever vehicles, routes, or driving duties change.
This certificate records completion of knowledge training in fleet and defensive driving safety. It does not authorize the holder to drive any particular vehicle for work: before the work, the employer must confirm the worker is fit to drive and competent on that vehicle, including the pre-trip circle check and defect reporting. It is also not a driver licence. A valid driver's licence of the correct class, and any class-specific training or endorsement the vehicle requires, are issued separately and this certificate does not stand in for them.
About 1 hour 10 minutes online, over 5 modules, at your own pace. It ends with a final test that needs 80% to pass.
One year from the day you pass. Review training at least annually, before winter, and whenever vehicles, routes, or driving duties change.
